Zune Case

April 18My laptop has just turned two-years-old, my new cell phone was ordered in March to replace my previous one of four years, and I ordered my beloved 30GB black Zune at the end of October last year.  Somehow, I managed to get an amazing deal and snatched it for $70 less than the original price (and free shipping!).

I would be lost without my laptop, my cell phone, and my Zune.  But as much as I love my electronics, I abuse them.  Not on purpose!  I tend to drop my cell phone on hard surfaces like concrete (although my new one hasn’t been damaged yet!), and I usually end up throwing my things in a tote bag with my keys… which sadly results in scratches.

I decided to save my Zune from its impending doom.  I ordered a case for it in January, and finally got around to using it in April.  It’s a “Crystal Case Cover for 30 GB Microsoft Zune with Belt Clip” in purple that I got for $9 including shipping.  Considering that I saved $70+ when ordering my Zune, you’d think I’d splurge - HA!  I’m frugal.

However it does have a few flaws.
1) The front and back “snap together” easily.  HA!
2) You cannot access the lock/unlock switch at the top.
3) It shifts around in the case.

I wouldn’t say I’m disappointed - it’s serves its purpose, it was fairly cheap, and it’s purple.  (Can you really go wrong with purple?  I think not!)  However, I have my eye on a nice leather case, a Golla carrying bag, and a few others.  But for now, this case will do.

Book: We’ll Meet Again

It’s no secret that I am a big fan of murder mysteries.  I could sit and watch Law & Order, CSI, Forensic Files, Cold Case, etc all of the time and be perfectly content.

The person responsible for my love and obsession with all things murder mystery? Mary Higgins Clark.  The first book of hers that I picked up was Loves Music, Loves to Dance, and I’ve been hooked since.  After reading books by the same author, typically they start running together or the plots are too similar - not the case with MHC’s books.  With only three of MHC books left to read, I made it my mission to finish the ones I had not read by the end of summer.

I found We’ll Meet Again in the library and snatched it up.

The beginning of the book sets up the story line - Molly Lasch, who claims she does not remember the night of the murder, is convicted of murdering her cheating husband, Gary.  Upon her release from serving 5 years in prison, she enlists her friend Fran Simmons, an investigative reporter, to help her figure out the events of that night and to find her husband’s murderer - even if it turns out to be herself.

Several patients at the local HMO, where Molly’s husband was head of at the time of his death, have died mysteriously.  It appears that Gary and his partner Dr. Peter Black were involved, which only adds to the mystery that Fran is trying to solve.

Although it starts off a bit slow (mainly due to Clark’s attention to every little detail) it did not drag or become dull for me, and the ending is sure to keep you turning the pages well into the late night - or early morning.
